"Zappos... has bred a cult-like following". They have an incredible of using technology to personalise the experience. Amazon does this too, with suggested reading lists, but there is something missing in the Amazon tone of voice - that little personal magic that Zappos has that I'm sure Amazon wants to rub off on them. I'm sure the main motivation is the bottom line though. Although I guess if you get the business model right, and that touch of social magic in the middle; then the bottom line will be healthy as follows?
