Shannon, Thanks for reminding me! Yeah a mentor or matchmaking service, like a speed dating or slower blind dating type service would be great. As well as a couple of pre-event training around pitching etc would have really helped a lot of the start ups in the competition but also for other entrepreneurs not participating yet.

From the feedback I've heard/read it does seem that this year was far better than last year, so hopefully the trend continues!

great summary farhan - funny there were no twitter IDs in the programme as they were online...especially given real-time theme! one other suggestion for the conference someone mentioned to me (was it you?) that's a good idea is to have mentor or meetup sessions. Midem does this, and its a great way for startups to get some one-on-one advice from an experienced startup founder, marketing guru, VC/angel etc. The mentors volunteer for a block of 1/2 hour sessions, and people get some quality meet-time. I also really think some separate breakouts on how to pitch/how to contact VCs/angels would be incredibly useful for new startups...there is a lot of content about this on blogs etc. but hearing it straight from Dave McClure, Saul Klein or other folks who are there to judge the startup competition anyway would be incredibly useful. Check out the Midem/Midemnet agenda to see what I mean...very focused on practical/how-to stuff and networking.
