Thanks Mr C, not sure I said they should wait till perfect, but they should, at the least, make sure that they've got something comparable and the latest stuff they're doing with the G phone's newest models are much better then pushing brand. Think if they're going to get market share it will be more due to this partnership with goog then the campaigns here.

Got to disagree there Farhan.

The mobile phone world is a marketplace crowded with people doing very similar things. Apart from the Iphone, they have all the same phones and similar price plans to their competitors.

But their competitors brands are much stronger at the moment, so consumers are pting to go with orange / vodafone etc even though they can get roughly the same thing with T mobile.

The proof in the pudding regarding this innovative marketing campaign, will be seen in 6-12 months.

Like the gorilla ad for Dairy Milk, which was lambasted at first for not immediately upping sales - they've just picked up a marketing award for turning around declining sales for the first time in 4 years.

So it's imperative for t Mobile to be building their brand now, whilst also improving on the product / distribution / service etc

If they wait til everything is perfect - they will never be marketing to their future audience.

love this article. agree 100%! Marketing can be sharp and create buzz but if service sucks, then people will stay away in droves. This is the challenge i am facing with the company i work with at the moment. so, my job now (self-imposed) is to make our service side better to make my job in marketing a whole lot easier!
